Book Review: This Could Be Us by Kennedy Ryan

This BOOK! What an amazing story of self discovery, Soledad embarks on in the aftermath of her criminal husband's betrayal, and finding a new path to provide her herself and her three daughters. With wrecked confidence, she rises from the ashes and takes charge of her life, all while slowly opening up to Judah Cross, the absolute epitome of a perfect father and man, co-parenting with his ex wife and so devoted to their autistic twin sons. But the romance, with all its ups and downs, is not the whole story here. It's about rebirth, choosing yourself first, finding, and learning to love yourself, trusting yourself, in order to trust someone else, and the value in kids having parents who might not be together, but are happy. I listened to the audio book and the narration is spot on, the writing is flawless. There's Autism rep, and older main characters (35-40 ish), which was refreshing. This book also got me interested in reading "All About Love" by Bell Hooks, as it's referenced often throughout the story. The print and ebook versions contain a reading group guide, as well as some of Soledad's recipes, including the strawberry-lemon prosecco sangria. Definitely trying that! All of the stars for this book!!
