I finished reading The Christmas Village by Annie Rains, and I am in love with Somerset Lake! Annie Rains does small towns and all their quirks so well. When you finish the book you just wish you could move there. I would have liked to devour this book in one sitting, and I definitely could have, had it not been for the busyness of the holiday season. So instead, I savoured it, and it was the only holiday story I read this year. I am a sucker for second chance romances anyway, but I loved Lucy and Miles, and I thought their characters were well developed and their conflict was believable. The rest of the characters are all very likeable and I enjoyed the set-up for more books. This is the first book I've read in the Somerset Lake series, but I can't wait to go back and read Book 1, The Summer Cottage, as well as the Sweetwater Springs / Somerset Lake crossover novella, A Forever Home.
